Website launch - designed and developed by Huggsters-Place
Forthcoming interview with numb magazine.
Gone, taken from the forthcoming album Audiocentricities is set to be released later this year via the freeness/icebox project. A swerve from the well-trodden path of the norm, emeson creates a sound that is uniquely Bittersoul, offering people an alternative, with a completely different style of delivery.
Whilst October finds me in the Lab Soulphonica studio at the next stage of completing the album 'Audiocentricities', I've just managed to finish work on the track ' Some Order' (now a free download from Sound Click) for an arts and music exhibition - the subject matter revolved around 'lists' and their relevance to society.
I've also been locked in the studio remixing the hip hop track ' Piensan' for the artist Mayte and if I may quote Steely Dan then as far as I'm concerned ''she's an artist, a pioneer she's got the right dynamics for the new frontier''.
Interview with Kaleidoscope magazine.
Remixing material for the artist Mayte, her website's coming soon.
Audiocentricities is coming along nicely and should be completed this month.

Stop Press! Audiocentricities now available as mp3 album!
Whilst the initial plan for Jan/Feb and probably a little bit of Dec was to feature some extraordinary talent on here, it all had to sit on the bench whilst the mastering was done for 'Audiocentricities', so a big bear hug to Everis 'a little more db, are you crazy, emeson' Pellius at EPM Mastering Suite.
In that time, I've been producing some material for Mayte and collaborating with Cain, a talented musician based in Vigo, Spain.
The final mix of Mayte's 'Atlantico' , should have been done by the early part of this month.

Plans are afoot to teleport to Spain, South Africa, New York, Australia and Nigeria in the black space coupe~ for music, business and pleasure.
A big mention and thank you to two special people who have now left these shores to start bright futures elsewhere.
Miss Charlene Yared-West, a brilliant young journalist/copywriter/biographer now back in her native South Africa and the fantastic Miss Rozalita Osman who featured on the Lust in Translation track Soundclick)and is now residing in Cyprus.
Without these two ladies,it's safe to say that things would not have turned out the way they have ,so i am eternally grateful to them.
Good journeys, but never goodbyes - love, emeson
I was hanging out at the Fruitstock Festival in Regents Park over the weekend.. real nice music in the dance tent(yes, I shook everything I had..lol) and some real nice people too.
Sunday offered me a sharp reminder in backing up my material as my computer crashed out of nowhere and some stuff (Virtual Recline)was lost. Luckily, I had the original templates on disc. As long as the original structure's there, then its cool..music can always change in definition, right?
Well, i was still mighty pissed..lol
It's a CDR month (big shouts to Tony & Gavin, Obi, Rob, Dayo and all) and as I've been unable to attend the previous two..all things being equal, I should be at this one on Thurs 10th Aug if I've got my dates right. Come down and listen to some new music from future intrepid musos and say hi.
I know i mentioned working on Yamasaki's souljazz fusion track Deep Six instrumental. Well,we mutated it into Deep Six(Something Deeper) and it's being doing the rounds quite nicely.
It's a fantastic piece of music from an intelligent futurescape musician,Yamasaki and if you get an opportunity to pick up his EP, then may i strongly suggest you do so.(Yamasaki)
Well, there's me getting a little mixed up in regard to the CDR night. I thought it was on, but i was wrong..aaargh! But it was still cool 'cause it was a Broken Beat/Funk/Soul night from the LoveMusicHateRacism organisation.By the time one of the dj's dropped DJ Delight by Ingram, all was well with me and my Stella Artois..lol
Hi all, welcome to another busy episode in emesonville!
Where do i begin? Okay, I've been working on material with the extraordinary Dj Infinite. I mentioned this fella previously and he'll be alongside the set-up, when we're on the road.
I'm in the studio working on some patterns and musical shapes for some myspace co-horts and trying to find time to complete all the modes and moves for the next phase of my regeneration! Speaking of myspace, i have been fortunate enough to chat to some like-minded individuals from different times and spaces.
One of these is a very special and talented photographer called Mariu
This woman has an amazing knack for bringing images to life, to almost go beyond...
If you get a moment, then please visit her space and tell her who sent you..lol
Finally, i've been tampering with a couple of remixes for some musical heavies, but upon approval i will reveal more.
Hi all,
You can only imagine my delight and surprise to be invited to create an interpretation of music derived from one of Mr. Chico Hamilton's drum loops. Whilst being an opportunity, it was and is an honor to be merely associated with the man in a musical way.
Alongside some extraordinary gifted cats that include Fertile Ground, Marlon Saunders and Ovasoul7 who will all be featured on Chico's Myspace page, I was more than happy to oblige.
I chose the "Chico R & B Loop" (created from Chico's bossa nova groove on the track "I Believe (If I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever)" from Chico's "6th Avenue Romp" album released in July 2006) out of the selections as I felt an immediate connection" 'Language Universal' was the result and can currently be heard at Chico Hamilton's Myspace page until the end of the month.
You can also check out the blog area for my comments and inspiration behind the making of 'Language Universal'
So from that, a second track was created, borne from the same Chico loop inspired by my good friend Mariu
Basically, whilst adding some capoeira drums to the end of the Language Universal track, i kept it going and had an idea for a completely different track.
With the help of Mariu 'Furtado' Paolini..lol, we came up with the track called 'Eugenia' Initially, she had no idea what i was working on : - ) but was very much intrigued and very happy to lend her talents. As she's a journalist/photographer from Venezuela who lives in Chile, i'd asked her for a description on how Photography makes her feel and what she sees. She was gracious enough to record one verse in English and one in Spanish for me. Of course, she's not just been bitten, but savaged by the music bug and firmly believes that her superstardom is a formality(i'm inclined to agree, but i won't be telling her that..lol)
You can hear and download 'Eugenia' from Myspace for a short space of time.
Following on from that(it's been a busy period..lol), is an unofficial re-working of Mark de Clive-Lowe's 'Day by Day' track featuring Cherie Mathieson
This came about from an open invitation to remixers in general from Mark de Clive-Lowe's myspace. So i thought i'd offer my two pennies worth..lol
The emeson remix can be currently found and heard here for a little while.
The original can be found on Mark de Clive-Lowe's Six Degrees album.
Hi to one and all,
In between and sandwiched amongst the music, comes the studio movement of Lab Soulphonica to the deeper climes of South Londinium. It's hectic but needed to happen.
Music wise, i've just finished collaborating with the mighty DJ Don Cuco from Minneapolis.
Apart from being an innovative beatcreator, beatmaker and nu-sound generator, this time-traveller also happens to be one half of the legendary Rhythm Lab Dj set up in Minnesota traversing the universal sound waves with music from genres known and new. The other half of the unique two, being the sonic priest, Mr Tarik Moody.
Don had some subliminal music entitled 'Sundrop' featured on his myspace and upon hearing it, i was moved to request a collaboration.
You can hear that and the original interstellar piece of music on his page.
Tune into the Rhythm Lab on Minnesota Public Radio and listen to Dj Don Cuco's Sundrop featuring yours truly and find out more about what these cats are up to.
Check out their space here
The ever reflective rhyme styler that is Mayte poppped into the studio requesting sound level checks on her awesome belter, Broken Soul.
Produced by the soundcrafter Lamore, this is essential listening from the irrepressible wordsmeister, Mayte.
Do yourselves a favour and listen out, right here
I managed to get down to the CDR Burnt Progress night, held monthly at Plastic People and hosted by Attica Blues' Tony Nwachukwu and Gavin Alexander(Call 'n' Response) Big shout to all the musos and representers on the night including Obi, Beatnik, Mayte, Analog Jones, Rockit Science, Duchess, Nocturnal and of course, Tony & Gavin.
Mariu(the wordsmith on the track, Eugenia)tells me she's got a brand new music bag with gifts of positive vibes coming soon. With no shortage of inspiration and verve, she'll be penning some more lyrical niceness for ears with no fears of a nu-dimensional genre.
I'll keep you all informed.
Maybe this should be a new section here, but here's a list of some of the tracks i've been listening to of late.
In no running order or major preference, here we go... Christian Falk-Make It Right, Eddine Said-Supernatural, Chaka Khan-I Feel For You, Fedde Le Grand-Put Your Hands Up For Detroit, Spacek-I Have A Daughter Who Sings, Barry White-Your Love So Good,I Can Taste It Don Cuco/Sarah White-Hiding Blind, Freeez-Southern Freeez, Ellie-Minding My Own Business, Beatnik-Insert Coin, K15-Spacepan, Mariu-Caracas : - ) Fau-I Don't Care, Afriaka-Moody, Movements-McMars, Mayte-Broken Soul, Yamasaki-Holy Roller, Anam Owuli-Eger-The Moment, Leda Battista-Ancora Una Parola, Amber Ojeda-Love From the Band
It's been an eventful year with more ups and downs than a seismic chart, but my chest remains pushed out for the finishing line.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the artists, musicians, sound boys and girls, musos, journos that i've had the chance to work with, alongside, for and otherwise in the quest for sonic music ascension, this year.
Here's wishing you all special bessings and peace for now and beyond,2007.
I wish your todays better than your yesterdays, but never better than your tomorrows - emeson...
